i7 -4790k asus z97 ar cpu idle at 47 and load at 80c bsod when playing newer games -help?

I am getting BSOD after an hour or so of playing newer games like watchdogs and fallout 4. I think it is a cpu overheating issue. Reapplied thermal paste, flashed to newest bios. Still idling at about 50 and loaded at about 80c. Any suggestions?
