pc hard crashing while playing games [gtx 980]

So I recently bought a new gaming pc. While playing games like gta v and fallout 4 it hard crashes. I can't alt tab, alt f4 or anything and I hear a wierd noise stutter noise. At first i thought it wasn't that big of a issue because a lot of people with nvidia gpus w/ windows 10 get pc crashes from gta v, and fallout 4 is known for its bugs right now.

Then I bought a ASUS ROG PG278Q Black 27" a week ago and now I am getting more and more crashes and on more games like Day z. I don't know what to do anymore I've been trying to figure out ways to fix it but nothing has worked.

I'm not sure if it's the new monitor thats the problem or my power supply or what.

-GPU: Superclocked GeForce GTX 980
-CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5930k CPU @ 3.50GHz
-HDD: (2TBx1) SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD
-RAM: 32GB (8GBx4) DDR4/2666MHz Quad Channel Memory
-PSU: 850 Watts - Corsair CSM Series CS850M
-MotherBoard: MSI X99A GAMING 9 ACK ATX
-Windows: 10 64 bit

Reset your PC using the Jumper or Cmos battery properly, and DISABLE the Motherboard Auto Tune Overclock aswell as the Turbo boost. You should be fine afterwards. Cheers m8

Yeah thats why it sucks this is happening. I didn't even have these problems with my cheap gaming pc.

Also when you say try rolling back drivers you mean the nvidia ones right?

You should rollback your nvidia driver to the previous one. Also when playing those games if it works as a temp fix I suggest rightclicking the .exe of the game, go to properties, and mark run as admin, and run in it compatability mode of windows 7, then try your game and let me know what happens.

Yes, the nvidia ones. Although I haven't had any hard crashes with them. Also check your CPU temps, and check your RAM using single stick.

So it's been a few days and nothing you said has fixed it. I have been looking up what the problem could be for hours and what I've come to think is it's either my gpu or ram. I'm not very good with pc stuff, pretty new to it still so even if it is either my gpu or ram I can't figure out what to do.

If anyone has any suggestions on what I could do I would appreciate it.

Also here's some more details on the crashing. When I my pc crashes there is no bluescreen "BSOD", no error messages or anything. Just a frozen screen and loud buzzing which is repeating the some sound over and over.

Just used WinDBG to read some minidump files and got this: probably caused by : genuineintel

Could this be because my GPU is overclocking? I have a superclocked gtx 980 and haven't changed any of the settings since I bought my pc. So could it be my motherboard overclocking my GPU?

Nope it is being cause by the CPU. Please ensure that the CPU cooler is seated properly and that it is not overclocked.
