Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could help me. I am playing Borderlands 2 GOTY (steam edition) everything on max (720p) except for physics. The game runs most of the time at 75 fps.
At some areas my frames drop to 50 fps.

My specs are I5 4670k, 12gb RAM, AMD 7850 1gb.
I checked with HWMonitor and at these areas only one of my cores gets loaded to 60%, the other three are below that. My GPU never goes above 70%. I know the Borderlands series are not particularly friendly to AMD GPUs, but I am still wondering if my GPU bottlenecks my system.

Thanks!

First just go to search, type power options, and change your computer to high performance. if this does not work

You can try unparking your CPU cores, This does require you to edit the registry, just a fair warning that if done incorrectly may cause issues but is easy to do if you follow my simple steps.

Copy the following registry key entry between the brackets [ 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 ].
Select your start button.
On the search bar type in “regedit”.
Go to edit->find->find next.
Paste this registry key but without quotes “0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583” and click find.
Once it has located it, look for the keys on the right hand side labeled MinValue and MaxValue.
Double click on each value and make sure they are both set to ‘0’.
Close the registry editor and shut down your computer.
Power the computer back up.
Core Parking should now be disabled.

It doesn't happen during firefights, it happens when I climb to a rock, for example, and have a wider view of the area.

Guys,

I found this: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/3s9rzz/can_someone_show_me_their_gpu_usage_during/

This guy is having my exact problem, except it's on Falout 4. Seems it's an optimization problem.

Have you tried capping your frame-rate at 60? There's really no reason to push higher than 60FPS, you're just going to make your GPU do unnecessary work.
