hey everyone,

I have an asus K555LJ (similarities with the X555) with 6GB of RAM, 4 of which are onboard, i don't really know enough to upgrade it with a safe feeling.
i have one slot available which contains a card of 2GB. I can't take a clear picture but the text on the RAM is:
2GB 1Rx16 PC3L - 12800S - 11 - 13 - C3
HMT425S6AFR6A - PB NO AA 1506
brand: SKhynix korea

do i need to take the 4GB onboard memory in account when choosing an extra 4 GB card ? brands and speed etc
I am aware it needs to be low-voltage

is it safe to remove 1 4GB DDR3L from an asus R500DR and switch it with the 2GB card?

thanks in advance, and please feel free to request any info i did not provide.

i found the solution, so if anyone ever has the same problem as me i'll just answer it myself. the ASUS K555LJ has an X555LJ motherboard, maximum memory is 12gb, 4GB onboard memory and 1 slot for up to 8GB. I ended up using 8 GB DDR3L-1600mhz from hyperX.

"thanks for your mail.

In this case i looked for the upgrade possibilities for your notebook.

U will be able to upgrade with 1x 8GB DDR3L 1600 MHz SDRAM. There will be a maximum of 12GB RAM including the 4GB onboard memory. I hope my answer was sufficient.

Ik hoop u hierbij voldoende te hebben geinformeerd.

kind regards,

Niels Lammerts
