Hi. I was wondering if my Palit Jetstream GTX 970 would work with the Xtreme IV cooler. I read something on Arctic's website mentioning "Accelero Xtreme IV is compatible only with the graphics card using a standard size PCB with a width of 98mm." But that kinda threw me off and I feel quite confused when I read "standard size". Here's the link to where I read that: Arctic's website

well 70c is not an unusual temp under very heavy load. i would suggest turning a few nonessential settings down, and maybe limiting your fps. theres really no need to have it running higher than your monitors refresh rate, epecially in an mmo. its also possible the oc isnt stable, not a temp issue.

im not really experienced with that settings program you're using, but pso2 should not be any trouble whatsoever for a 970.

what they likely mean is a reference pcb. after nvidia designs the original card, the board partners, like palit there, are given the blueprint and gpu core and left to do with it as they want. so they can start by designing a custom cooler, or go as far as making a custom pcb if they feel they can offer better power delivery or some other functional improvement over the reference design.

unfortunately, that card of yours is a custom pcb. also, the one you linked is for the 980 ti. i really think this product you're looking at is for reference cards with reference coolers. reference coolers are not the best out there, and improving it certainly a market. however the card you have already has a custom designed cooler on it that im sure offers better cooling than the reference design.

is there a reason you think you need to improve the cooling of your card?

Ah I see. Main reason was I was using Nvidia Inspector for extra smoothness when playing Phantasy Star Online 2 with these settings: Settings

Temps would go to like 70'ish C when playing on Unlimited FPS (all case fans on max speed and GPU at 80 ish % speed) with those settings and when a lot is happening in-game and the game would crash and my OC settings (currently +100 on core/mem on stock voltage) would go back to stock. My case is the Corsair SPEC 03 case that I bought two additional Corsair 120mm fans for and some random case fan as intake on the bottom that I had left-over. Totalling to 6 fans case fans, 3 intake on bottom and front and 3 exhaust on top and rear. Just worried about that 70C and having my GPU fan speed near or at 100% speed would reduce the lifespan or something of the sort... Hence why I wanted the aftermarket cooler really. At the expense of lower temps of course... >.<
