My Current CPU is i5-750, pretty old (Been using it for at least 4 years) one, but a very decent one as well.
A friend of mine is selling his i5-3470 for 50 dollars and I am curious to know if there's a point in upgrading my current CPU.
I've checked some comparisons, and the differences between the 2 CPU aren't big at all.
Example

Lately I've noticed some fps drops, freezes and screen lags while playing games, so I think the time to change the CPU has come.

What will you suggest guys?

Solution
Actually, the difference is huge. It will be quite beneficial for you to upgrade - but you will need a compatible motherboard - the two processors need different sockets.

Mostly the FPS Drop problem are from GPU not CPU so please include Full Spec of your PC, that's the rule

5.6 to 8.5 on single core performance is high for a gaming system; it's worth it if the system isn't GPU bound. The CPU is $50, but you also need a motherboard if it isn't included.

I have an offer for 50 dollars as you probably read. I don't have much more money than that. Can't find a 4k or 5k as cheap as that.

if you dont have any other option then take it. The performance from 3xxx to 6xxx arent so great either, but this processor maybe wont last very long on high gaming, but it will last a while maybe 2 - 3 years or more due to directx 12
