Hi all, I have the following system:

M5A99FX PRO R2.0
FX-9370
1000w Fata1ity PSU
R9 390X
500gb SSD
1TB HD
Patriot Viper 16gb 8gbx2 2133mhz ram

Here is the problem. I just put this motherboard in, and Ive had nothing but memory issues. I set the motherboard to whatever ram I put in (have tried 4x 4gb 1866, 2x8gb 1866mhz, etc) And it always freezes after a few seconds. The only setting that works is auto, which sets the memory to 1600mhz.

So I went on the Asus website, https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M5A99FX_PRO_R20/specifications/ and found the Qualified Vendors List for memory. Got exact model number of what they recommend, go into the BIOS, set it to auto settings for 2133, boot, bam freeze instantly.

So then I see they recommend 11-11-11-30 at 1.5 volts, set it manually to 2133, BOOM freeze as soon as I boot into windows.

Set to auto, its fine with no issues. Ran memtest on 4 different kinds of memory, all good.

Ive tried numerous memories and numerous settings. What in the world am I doing wrong?

Solution
Try higher RAM voltage, they are good for 1.65v or more. Memory controller in CPU is normally 1866 MHz, not much point in pushing RAM any faster. Lowering latency may give you more than OCing it.
