Hi guys! Another noob here -_-|||

Recently, I bought AC Syndicate, but sadly (and expectedly) I can't play it, even at the lowest setting :( My pc is like 5+ years old, so should I just upgrade few parts (how long will it last?) or just buy a new one? I mainly used my pc to play games (Assasin's Creed series, Battlefield, TS4, etc), video editing, photoshop and office...

My current specs:
CPU : AMD Phenom II x6 1050t, not OCed
MB : Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H
RAM : Vengeance DDR3 16 GB
GPU : AMD Radeon 6870 1GB
PSU : Cooler Master 550 W
SSD : Samsung EVO 250GB
HDD : Seagate Barracuda 1 TB, WD Green 750 GB
OS : Win 7 SP1

Sooo... are they still relevant to, y'know, play new games (Fallout4:D) with high settings? Or is it too wishful? :p If I don't have to, is it okay to just but the nvidia gtx970? Someone told me that it will be bottlenecked, is it true? And if I have to buy a new system, what can I get for $900-$1000?
Hope you guys can help me :)
Thanks!

You could re-use the SSD and hdd, but that's about it. A 5 yr old psu is coming to the end of its reliable usage. Chances are very good that your ram is older and running 1.65 or maybe even 1.8v, which really isn't that good for newer Intel cpu's, but is fine for amd or older Lga1155 systems. So ram is possible, maybe. For a gtx 970,the cpu will bottleneck, even with some good OC, but that simply means you'll not be able to use the full ability of the card, not that the card would be overwhelmed by settings. A gtx960/r9 380 would be a better balance, no wasted money on settings you can't reach.

If you want to see what $1000 can get, go to pcpartpicker.com and start playing around with what you think would be a dream system. Then tailor for budget, but remember that many parts come with rebates, so initial expenditures will be elevated.
