Recently my computer has just started shutting its self down at random points, and im beginning to wonder if the CPU is overheating.
I have a FX-8350 but the only fans I have in it are what came in the case and on the hardware. I took it to a computer repair shop to see if they knew the issue but they said there were no problems what so ever, so i play some not very intensive games for 3 hours then turn it off. About an hour later I go back on and after 40mins it shuts down from being on the same game.
Thing I will add my window was open the first time and not the second.

Solution
It can either be that the thermal paste that is used to keep the chip cool gone dry or faulty fan.. either you'll need to get a new heatsink.. cooler master evo should do the trick

My PSU is a EVGA 500W.
And if you need it my MOBO is an ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 Motherboard AMD Phenom/Athlon/Sempron AM3+ RX881/760G SB710 ATX RAID Gigabit LAN - 980DE3/U3S3 (Not sure what any of that means)

To be honest those are not bad temps if your max is 50

here's what.. leave core temp and hwmonitor running in the background while playing a game for a while.. like 20minutes then check the max temps and report back :)

also, can check temps i.e onscreen temps while playing games by using both MSI afterburner and HWmonitor together. :)
(Temps will display in left corner of screen while gaming)

Ok i loaded up a game and it straight away went to 53. Ok i played fo:nv for no less than 5mins and the temp went straight up to 70, the only reason i knew is becasue i exited by mistake, so i presume it would of shut down soon.

EDIT: For my gpu its a R9 270x

Sp I just caught it then, why do you think its now getting this hot? Before I could play games for hours and nothing would happen, could the CPU fan of broken somehow? And how would you recommend I fix this?
