Hi newbie here to computer gaming. I was wondering which graphic cards would go with a asrock z170m pro4s skylake atx motherboard and a Intel i5 6500 3.2Ghz CPU. Any advice would be helpful.

Solution
A GTX 960 - 980 would work well with those specs, but without knowing your budget I can't really tell you which is the best fit. A 960 or 970 would be the most balanced (less of a bottleneck for your CPU), but I'm not sure if you prefer Nvidia or AMD.

The gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce gtx960 windforce 4gb good?
There are alot different models that I'm confused as to which ones are good. Budget is preferably under £200
As for AMD or NVIDIA I'm not sure as which is better.

I can't really say definitively which brand is better. There are trade-offs with each. With Nvidia you will be paying a premium in many cases for less performance than a relatively priced AMD GPU. However Nvidia offers superior driver support, meaning that you should run into less frustrations when playing new games.

As for which 960 to buy, that's really up to you. Look at reviews, prices, and clock speeds to see which one gets you the most value.

Would a AMD R9 390 work? Or I need better specs?

It would work, but you might need a higher wattage power supply for that GPU.
