Question about certain SoC

Recently notebooks with low power SoC became available, for example Intel N2840, N3050 and they can't be removed because they are SoC. I then saw laptop disassembly video on Youtube and saw that there is seperate wifi card (by main and aux antenna cables).

So the question is do those SoC have wifi inside them like smartphones and tablets, or is the internal seperate wifi card which I saw necessary (or it was just extra)?

Solution
In some instances, the WiFi card is separate, as you saw on the video, Intel processors do not have WiFi capabilities built in (as yet) so some vendors may provide a slot on their mobo, others may actually solder the Wifi chips on the mobo - it all depends.
