Hi there,

I was using the program called Throttlestop to boost my performance ingame and I read a guide that said to set the multiplier to 35. I was wondering exactly what this does? I set it to 35 and the FID in the program went to 35. What is FID? I also was wondering what the default frequency on the I5-4690k is and if setting the multiplier has anything to do with it.

Thanks

FID is the multiplier of the bus speed. 333 bus X4=1333 memory bus. 333X10= 3.333Ghz CPU speed. 333X12=3.999 Ghz CPU speed. What you read may have said TS "CAN" set the multiplier up to 35. I think 35 is the max. supported multiplier. For stability you must raise the voltage to raise the multiplier very much. This increases heat greatly. For best results with TS increase your cooling first. Raise the voltage next and check to make sure you have a cooling margin to explore. Then raise multiplier, and test for stability and heat issues. There is a new Throttlestop 8.00 beta 6 out that supports Core i CPUs.
