Won't there be new motherboards for NvLink though?
For the next while, NvLink is going to be a server thing. There is no need for 8 GPU's for gaming, but when they are used for nuclear simulation, it's handy and usually they don't use desktop GPU's, they use specialized devices like Tesla.
