It should but, I'm jusst eyeing that processor.... Although all games are almost completely GPU reliant the CPU still needs to do all the other calculations and... well the Pentium G3258 iss indeed a good processor i'm not sure how long it will tand out with todays latest games. I am going to have to recommend you upgrade to an i5.... hmmm...... the Intel i5-4690K. It is perfect for gaming and about $40.00 more than your current processor.

I mentally jotted down the wrong price accidentally. Yess indeed it is $250.00. Are you going for a budget build? If thats the casse than I think we can squeez in somthing close but cheaper. But I sitll HIGHLY recommend the i5-4690k

I'm not running the house or frostfall mods but am running about 50 mods with improved horses, several followers, improved water areas etc. I think you'll be struggling. My hd 7850 runs around 80-90% usage most of the time and my i5 runs around 40-60% across all four cores even with being oc'd to 4.5ghz. That's without running enb or the hi rez texture pack. That's running at 60fps almost constant on ultra aside from a few intense areas where the gpu struggles and I'm hitting my 1gb vram limit.

The g3258 is a lot weaker than the i5 having only half the cores and the r7 260x is a bit weaker than my 7850 which is also slightly oc'd. You should probably consider an i5, even a 4460 or 4590 to save a few dollars over the 4690k. For a gpu something like a gtx 960 or similar.

Agreed, I completely forgot to mention the GPU. I have a GTX 970 and it runs just fine with a basic ENB

I am trying to make the cheapest build possible I am coming from playing on a console and just want the cheapest thing I can do to do a bit better than consoles( basically a consul killer)

Well, I wouldn't skimp out on certain parts. Some things you just need to step back and say, ok well this is expensive but it achieves what I want it to no problem. If multiple people are telling you it will struggle then you might want to consider their suggestions. That's what I have had to do for my first build. I am spending somewhere around $1,500 on my tower alone (No peripherals basically), and I am coming from a console (I am 16 with my first job and I am reckless, but it's what I want lol). I Would go with a bit higher end CPU now, even though it's more expensive, because it's easier to upgrade the GPU later.

Typically pc gaming builds are going to cost more than a console. It's difficult to directly compare hardware since a console is specifically designed to do one task and one task only. Everything is streamlined and designed to work optimally where a pc is made up of stand alone parts. Also on console it's typically played on a tv screen and viewed from a further distance so any potential minor imperfections during gameplay could go largely unnoticed.

Now you move to a pc where the monitor is quite close and finer details are more emphasized. It's possible to have 'console killing' hardware and still have a pc game run with lag and stuttering where you turn on the spot and fps drop considerably leaving your view of the game jerking a few times then smoothing back out.

Part of the reason for going to pc say in a game like skyrim is for better visuals. There's nothing wrong with trying to save money but at the same time spending as little as possible on a low end rig is going to net low end graphics. In which case why not stick to console? If an inexpensive build means having to turn down the graphics to get playable fps then it sort of negates the reason for bothering with pc aside from maybe mods.

Skyrim's minimum system requirements say a dual core cpu with at least 2ghz or higher paired with a dx9 video card with at least 512mb of ram. That sounds really optimistic in my opinion. You may not need a full 60fps but when I hit trouble spots where my fps reaches 20-25fps it nearly turns into a slideshow. That's with literally twice the cpu and gpu as the minimum requirements suggest. My 1gb of vram easily gets maxed out without enb which is hard on the gpu and without hi resolution texture packs.

Enb will have a different effect on different pc's with various cpu/gpu combinations but for one user with a gtx 780 (decent card) enabling enb in their case dropped their fps to around 14fps.
