Using Nvidia Quadro K2000 2gb for Gaming?

I have a used PNY Quadro k2000 2gb from a family member they got from work when they swapped to Macs.
I was already looking to build a gaming pc but have a budget of $500. This would be my first step into PC gaming.
With GPUs requiring the majority of my budget I was looking around for ways to reduce my costs. This GPU would be mine for free, and after doing some research I found it was mostly geared towards 3D rendering and Video editing workstations rather than used for gaming.

My question is, should I use this GPU for a pc build and allocate my funds towards a better processor thus building a stronger machine? Or is this GPU just not built for the kind of work current Games are recommending?
For reference I'm looking to use Battlefront, and Fallout 4 as benchmarks.

In the future, I'm planning on running a Raid 1 out of this system. If this plays in as a factor.

You already said it, is not meant for gaming, you'll be able to play maybe at 720p, my advice would be to get the system that you want, and replace it down the way, just get a better power supply, so you can use any GPU that you want. Also get a hard drive, a 120 GB SSD is not enough, if you want to lower the price go with the haswell route, a 4590 performs around the same at stock speeds.

The issue isn't that it's not meant for gaming as tom's did an article on gaming with workstation cards and the extra vram helps it outperform similar spec gaming cards. But you're looking near a 740 spec wise so it's low end as far as gaming goes.

Btw you need to change your mobo to one that is ddr4.
