Hello, I want to play borderlands 2 on my toaster of a p.c. Currently, borderlands 2 runs on 5-6 fps on all the settings turned on low, or off. My computer is a windows 7 home premium. At the moment; I have an ATI Radeon 3,000 graphics. My processor is an AMD athlon(tm) II 170u Processor. I was thinking about buying an AMD A10-5800K APU 3.8Ghz Processor AD580KWOHJBOX as a replacement for my current processor. I was also thinking about buying a Sapphire Radeon R7 250 2GB DDR3 HDMI/DVI-D/VGA with Boost PCI-Express Graphics Card 11215-01-20G and buying some 16 gb ram on the side. The tricky part about is, is that i can only buy one out of those two. I can possibly get another, but i'd have to get a job. Atm I have 100$ , any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! ^__^

Just buy the processor first, then find which radeon card enables its dual graphics, for the time being you can try playing borderlands 2 just on the intergrated graphics on the CPU as it comes with Radeon HD 7660D GPU built in. That will do you well until you can buy yourself a card, I reccommend instead of a r7 250, don't waste your cash on that, just buy a r9 280 or r9 280x.

also make sure your MOBO can handle the chip.

How do I check if my motherboard can handle the chip? Also, what is this "integrated graphics" I really don't know what you're talking about :c

Check out dual graphics here. It's some cool stuff any your buying an apu.

To see if it will work with the mobo look it up, what is your motherboard, as long as the socket types are correct then the cpu will fit. I just need to k ow your mobo and I can tell you.

Okay, I searched it using cmd.exe. The manufacturer is FOXCONN, the product is 2AB7, idk what the serial number is, and it's version 1.0 . Thank you for sharing that website about the dual graphics, it'll come in helpful with future purchases :D

Well my friend im sorry to inform you that your MOBO only supports CPU's up to 85w the one you want to get is 100. plus you dont have a slot on that board for future GPU, as its only PCI express x1 slots. not 16. I can help you pick out a budget MOBO thats great and will not cause you any problems in the future

CPU: AMD A8-7650K 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ($89.99 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-H Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard ($45.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($76.62 @ Amazon)
Total: $212.60

This will hold you very well, it will perform for you on your budget, it may be 212$ but this makes it so you can really use your apu, the ram is compatible with both the apu and mobo, You will get great performance from this, especially since its 16gb, you can go to 8g if you want, but the more memory the better your APU will run.

you can scrap everything but you wont be able to upgrade to a better PC till you replace your motherboard.

I have one more question. Once i get all these parts, how strong is the computer going to be?
