Recently my computer has started doing this weird thing, when my usb head set isn't plugged in things take longer to load and stop responding a lot. I noticed it when I was on youtube, videos wouldn't play not because it was buffering or because it was paused, it was just frozen and after about a minute or so it responds normally. But this happens when I run Flashes, MP3s, Skype calls, Games, Just about everything runs slower and worse when I plug out my headset, I can't find anyone else with the same issue and I don't know how to solve it.

I did that and it removed some potential hazards but it still seems to be doing the same thing.

Can you get any updates having xp? I know Microsoft discontinued support for xp awhile back. Does your headset have separate drivers or is it a generic headset. I would try reinstalling the drivers if it has separate drivers. There are also a couple other things you could do to try to speed up your computer; running ccleaner, defraggler, and changing what programs run at startup. I would do a defrag last because it takes awhile depending on how bad your system is fragmented.

Well I've tried everything and still no change i'll have to use defrag later. I really appreciate the help though.

Defraggler didn't seem to do the trick either, I wish I had a clue as to what causes this.
