Hi everybody,

I just have a question regarding my system.

There is a chance that I will be able to trade my current GPU (R9 270) for an ASUS R9 280X and I was wondering if my system could handle it ?

CPU: Core2 Quad Q8400, OCed to ~3.1GHz
MBO: ASUS P5G41-M LX
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) G.skill Ripjaws 1333MHz
HDDs: 1xWD Blue 1TB, 1xWD Green 1TB
PSU: Super Flower 550W (http://www.super-flower.com.tw/products_detail.php?class=2&sn=18&ID=108)

The PSU is about 8 months old, so it's nowhere near the end of its lifespan for sure.

Basically I'm little worried since I got this old Socket 775 CPU which is OCed and that can draw significantly more power (I can return it to stock speeds if really necessary). I know that my PSU is a high quality one, but I've been reading conflicting forum threads on the internet so I wanted to ask here for an answer specific to my build.

Thank you all for you time and I appreciate the answers.

Thank you for your answer, I'll see if some other people respond, just to get a confirmation.

Actually I'm watching the PSU right now in my case and it has 2x 6+2 pin PCIE power connectors and it has 45.5A on the +12V rail, so I should be good to go.
