Was wondering which would be the better card for multiple monitor setup. It will be 3 1080p 24in monitors . Ive read that each card is great for it but then I've heard the 980ti not having as much vram as the 390x it would be better off getting a 390x. Then again I've read the 980ti being faster it would be better... So im in a bind as to what i should get, haven't really seen any benchmarks for set ups like this. If you know anything please let me know ! and have a great day

The 980Ti is the way to go. With just a single card, you won't even be able to set settings high enough at 5760x1080 to hit above the 6GB limit. Source: My own setup, ran 120Hz 6040x1080 with SLI Titan X, never saw above ~5.5GB usage in only certain games (Shadow of Mordor, Arkham Knight, Dying Light) while still maintaining playable framerates.

980ti is significantly faster and 6GB vram is sufficient. About benchmarks, you could find benchmsrks for similar resolutions. For instance, your setup would give 1920x1080x3 = 6220800 pixels. This is somewhat less than 2160p which would give you 8294400 pixels, so your performance should be a bit better. 980ti would be excellent card for this resolution.

OP clearly stated 1080P monitors. Very few people care to even try to run 4k surround.

To OP, again, go for the 980Ti. Games will be quite playable, you will be fine, no lack of VRAM. Unlike others here, I'm not guessing, I actually HAVE run 1080 surround on a 980Ti, SLI 980Ti, Titan X and SLI Titan X, so I know what kind of performance you can expect.
