Hello guys, so yesterday I got a GeForce GTX 750 Ti EVGA 2GB the normal not FTW or SC. And I recorded with action and got around 170 fps, then today I wake up open minecraft I get around 200 fps and then I open up action I get 39-44 never higher or lower with fraps and action. So anyone know the problem?

Solution

Not sure.
BTW, you didn't initially say that recording worked fine with another game so it made helping you much harder.

You might have better luck at the minecraft or action software forums.

*Have you tried using NVidia Shadowplay? (now "Share"), because I find it really easy to use and it works perfectly for me.
Probably a CPU bottleneck as FRAPS uses the CPU to encode the video.

Try using NVidia's Shadowplay (may be renamed to "Share" in the beta?).

That uses a hardware video encoder on your GPU instead with minimal frame rate hit. i was recording 1440p @60FPS and didn't drop more than 5% though you can adjust the video quality.

Small learning curve to get started but pretty easy then.

Update:
Mine is called "Share" now and to enable it I:
a) right-click the NVidia link and open Geforce Experience (system tray at lower right)

b) preferences-> Share -> "Enable" (enable in the upper right next to user name)

c) change preferences for video if needed

d) toggle appropriate F-Key to start/stop video recording

e) check the video folder and play back the recording

I didn't quite understand your post.

Your frame rate is now dropped when NOT RECORDING at all?

1) check other games and benchmarks to be sure it's not just Minecraft
2) Reinstall NVidia drivers and use "custom->Clean" method
3) check fans
4) monitor GPU frequency using MSI afterburner or whatever (if it should be 1200MHz but stays at say 400MHz your GPU is throttling somehow)
5) Monitor CPU with Task Manager-> Performance-> CPU (make sure it's not running high usage such as running anti-virus or something).

No, so when I firs t got my new GPU I got around 120fps while recording, now I get 39-44 fps while recording with action and fraps but when I record CS:GO I lose no frames, so I know it has to do something with minecraft. But I tried using OBS and now I am using this as a new recorder but I miss using action. So any ideas why action is making only minecraft lag out?

Solution

1) Did you select "ENABLE" for Shadowplay/Share (share is new name in Beta for GE)?
(You should now have access to settings which were greyed out before)

2) Did you try selecting the symbol, fps, and rig details (say all in upper right) in preferences?

3) *If you toggle ALT+F9 in the desktop or a game does it give an indication of recording?
(say select that to START and 20 seconds later again to STOP on the desktop)

4) Are you checking the correct video folder?
(Default "C:\Users\Kingfluffy\Videos\Desktop"), where the second word is your user name

Other:
**If still stuck, I suggest trying to install the latest drivers again but choose "CUSTOM-> CLEAN" install method which may fix any glitches.

1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes in other games but I want to record minecraft so I need desktop capture. 4. YES I am getting the files but I need to record minecraft but I need desktop capture. I have reinstalled drivers twice.

Just to confirm:

1) Single monitor which is attached to the GTX750Ti (not to the motherboard or different card)

2) NO OTHER graphics card in system (ignore the iGPU)

3) Device Manager-> "Display Adapter" shows the GTX750Ti?

4) *You did the CUSTOM->CLEAN INSTALL method I recommended and didn't just install drivers again normally?

Still stuck?
1) go to "services.msc" and restart the NVidia streaming service, and/or

2) Restore Windows (keeping programs). Method differs slightly depending on version of Windows. For example, you might insert the Install disc and go to "restore" which reinstalls the guts of Windows...

*You should make a backup Image before the above if possible.

3) Windows 10?
If not, perhaps it's a good time to upgrade. It may fix your issue. I just upgraded my dad yesterday. He has lots of programs and it went pretty smoothly. One ethernet network issue which I googled (via a different PC) and fixed but nothing else. I've installed Windows 10 on roughly 20 computers since July 30th and it's gotten pretty stable now.

I'd do the CUSTOM->CLEAN install of NVidia after upgrading to W10 though.

1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Already did 1. Already did 2. I have windows 7 and I do not have my disk. 3. I was thinking about it but I don't know. Anything else? If not ill just get 10, I left windows 10 since it made my game lag more.

I would suggest a CLEAN INSTALL of Windows 10.

Really quickly, here's one way:
1. upgrade to W10 (prompt in Sys Tray or media creation tool to create DVD/USB from MS site)

2. plan carefully (backup etc)

3. Unhook all drives for now except drive to install to.

4. Insert W10 Install media and BOOT to it

5. DELETE everything at beginning of W10 install, then continue installation

6. Drivers, install programs etc.

(You can keep your "Steamapps" folder on another drive then copy it back over once you reinstall Steam so you don't have to download games again)

You've got me stumped.

At this point, I can only suggest a CLEAN INSTALL of Windows 10 (so plan carefully).

1. plan/backup
2. unhook non-OS drives
3. BOOT to the W10 install media (don't start from Windows)

4. DELETE all partitions off the OS drive
5. Install (*Do NOT insert a key if asked, just skip as Microsoft will sort that out automatically)
6. Reinstall programs, drivers etc
