Hi there samkokloon,

What do you mean by double check? In case you haven't tried using different cables, it may be a good idea to do so.
If the issue persists, you have several options:
- Contact a data recovery company in case the data is crucial.
- RMA the drive if under warranty.
- Take the drive out of the enclosure and try to attach it internally as bailojustin suggested. Keep in mind that this will void the warranty and may not work in case the drive has proprietary connectors.

Cheers,

In order to save some information on the drive you can attempt to connect it and access the partition containing your storage using a partition recovery program such as Partition Recovery.

Also in the next step there is a chance that the Windows.Old files will be left containing certain key information before the DISKpart clean stage.

If the hard drive itself is so corrupt that the computer wont boot even when its not selected as boot priority or you can not get it to open period while connected.
The best scenario for this would be to connect the Hard drive alone, and insert a OS disk for the harddrive, then boot from disk, this will allow you to reformat and rewrite the disk with a new OS on it, afterwards I would highly recommenced cleaning the drive of anything left on it.
after that I would use Disk Part to clean and partition the drive for further use.
Afterwards you should have a good, usable 1tb external HDD completely reformatted.

Hi D_Know_WD, I tried the Seagate tools and they did not recognize the disk even when the disk was directly connected to the motherboard. Thanks for looking at this.

Hi bailojustin,

Thanks for looking at this. As you know my issue is that the disk was not identified by any of the recovery software. Do you want me to try this software as this disk has three partitions. I am not worried that much about this disk but I have the data that is important to me at this time.

regards,

As the drive is not picked up by the brand specific testing tool, then it is not recognized by Disk Management. It may not be recognized by BIOS as well. In that case, you will not be able to access the data with software tools.

Unfortunately, that narrows down your options to:
- RMAing the drive.
- Using the services of a data recovery company.
