note: this isnt my main computer, i was given it by a friend and have upgraded it since.

i have a gigabyte gtx 560 that heats up to 100 celsius under any moderate load. when idling it sits there at about 38c. i have changed the thermal paste twice and thats made no effect to the temps, i have a 120mm fan blowing directly onto it and that did almost nothing. whenever i touch the heatsink its playing a game, it burns my fingers (of course). could the liquid in the heatpipes have evaporated?

regards

both fans are working and spin at 2000 rpm, full speed for these fans.

idk why its doing this lol

they are both spinning...

ive also somewhat fixed the problem, i found out that i accidentally flipped the 120mm fan around and it was blowing air out of the case, it gets up to 85 c in games but still goes up to 100c in furmark.

Just because they were spiining means they were fine. When my 660 fan died they also spinning. But y out can see someting was wrong with it. It was leadtek dual fan model. Upon close inspection one of the fan did not spin at the same speed as the other one. Well probably die out because i was using my own curve instead of letting the driver handle the fan speed.

they are both spinning at the same speed. no matter what speed.
as far as i know, these gtx 560s are known to run hot. id never expect them to run this hot though.

its somewhat crap, i have a 80mm fan at the front bringing air in, a 120mm fan blowing directly onto the video card, 92mm at the back exhausting and the 120mm fan in the psu.
the case is a generic one (dont even know the name of it) i got the machine from a friend ages ago and have been upgrading it since.

yes, the power supply is blowing out hot air from the rest of the case.

still i would not consider PSU fan as an effective measure to blow your heat out from the case. probably would be better if you have at least one 120mm with high CFM at the back. cable management will also help with air flow. have you tried how it goes with side panel open?

the case only has screws for a 92mm fan. i have tried it wothout the side panel open and it didnt really do much, it still overheated, but took a little longer to do so.
