After doing a repair to a machine, can I get the original free Windows 10 upgrade offer back?

Greetings, Everybody!
I’m working on a HP Pavilion 20 All-in-One (about 2 yrs old), which was badly infected. Sometime before I received the computer, it had been upgraded from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1. The recovery disks I was given were homemade.

I used a recovery disk to do a successful wipe and reload. I was able to get the security updates back.

Before I did the wipe and reload, there was an alert icon for a free upgrade to Windows 10. Now, after having done the wipe and reload, when I click on the icon for upgrade, I receive a notification that there are two options:

(1) Type in the product key.

(2) “Do you want to purchase a product key from Microsoft?

Note: There is no sticker certified by Microsoft for a Windows operating system on the outside of the machine (the product key would normally appear on this sticker). Is this a new HP standard not to attach a Microsoft sticker on the machine?

My question: After doing a repair to a machine, can I get the original free Windows 10 upgrade offer back? Or do I have to purchase the product key?

As always, thanks for your helpful advice and suggestions.

AFAIK, Hp encrypts teh key and does not make it available for view, you can check with HP to be sure butmy grandsons Compaq, which is also HP, strangely had an option to view the key in the built in diagnostics that you can access during post.

Is there a way to view the current product key in the command line? I have seen 3rd party software that claims to be able to extract the product key from Windows 8. I think the command is something like this but it doesn’t quite work: slmgr/div[Activation ID|All]
