Hi there. I'm trying to build 5 new systems capable of running a 3840 x 2160 Ultra HD Resolution display. These are only going to be used for general office use, MS word, excel etc and the occasional photoshop photo touch up (nothing too heavy!)

The display panels we have already sourced are Samsung U28D590D which use displayport, so I am thinking an r7 250x 1gb (or similar) will be the most cost effective option for GPU.

I am then considering the following:
RAM: 2x 4gb
PSU: 500w PSU
SSD: 120GB (only really for the OS as files are stored on a separate NAS).
CPU: AMD FX6300
MOBO: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3

Does that seem a fairly well-balanced build or can anyone with better knowledge provide some tips?

ugg, I wouldn't go AMD for that. Most office software is single core based and would do better with an intel system and could use half the power an amd system would. Why kind of budget do you have for the systems. Do you want a small form factor so you don't have big monster towers sitting htere? USB support? Lots of questions.

Thanks for your response. To specify, in terms of budget, I simply have to deliver this as cost effectively as possible. Provisionally approx. £2k ($3k) is set aside for these 5 PCs but if I really need more I can allocate it, and if I can make any savings then that would be great as it will increase the spend on some of the other cool stuff I have to buy like digital signage.

Basically other than the photoshop activity (which is a 3-4 times a week touching up a batch of photos for marketing purposes) virtually all activity is done through software provided through web browsers; gmail, a helpdesk, CRM/content management system and alot of google doc spreadsheets. We also deal with a lot of word, excel and PDF files.

The primary requirement is for staff to be able to multi-task, as ours is a frenetic environment - if a customer query comes along, staff are expected to park what they are doing for a minute, deal with the enquiry and then revert back to whatever they were doing. This is why I was thinking a 6 core AMD CPU might be a better option than a basic intel CPU. If I'm looking at intel, what would be the best option around £80/$120?

I don't want massive towers, Micro ATX will be fine as they will sit under a bench desk. There is no special requirement for any special connectivity, just network and the displayport output.

So any advice/recommendations would be massively appreciated :)
