Hi guys, my roomate has a laptop which her ex broke while trying to fix the charger plug its a packard bell running windows vista 32 bit however she has music and pictures of her holidays and other stuff in there which she would like to recover i plugged her hardrive onto a spare computer and tried to boot it in safe mode, I am aware because of the different motherboard and drivers simply trying to turn it on wouldnt work so I tried to boot it in safe mode hoping that the basic drivers would work, however they wired keyboard i am using doesnt work it receives power however the keys dont work.... is there any way to get into this hard drive?

I tried using my windows 7 disk to hopefully "upgrade" the software so we could go in however it says i need to boot the cd once logged in.

when I roam through her hard drive all the folders are there but all appear empty, she assures me however that there used to be files in there...

any ideas?
