Using old GTX 770 for PhysX

I'm upgrading to a GTX 980 Ti from a GTX 770. In the past a friend suggested that I use my old graphics card to run PhysX. Is this still a viable option? Or have cards advanced enough to let the GTX 980 Ti do everything?
