hi i have been recently overclocking my r9 285 and wanted to know if this look ok and i should start testing it. i am currently running a overclock from 965 to 1000mhz. i didn't touch the memory now i am overclocking that to 1450 from 1400 and i changed the 100mhz to1025 . i havent applied it yet does it look ok. btw i have a 500w evga 80+ psu. amd fx 6300 @ 3.9ghz. my system without over clocks should have a power draw of 384w. but since i increaced the powerlimit 20% it should be 430-440w is that ok for my psu

The silicon on every card is different, so the only real way to know that that's ok is to test. Seems you are doing the right thing, taking small increases first, but I suggest you test that core and memory clocks independently.
Up the core clock, test, then repeat til you hit the OC wall, then do the same to VRAM.

Regarding the PSU, there are evga's that are good, and there are some that you should avoid. If you have/know the exact model, please post it as well, so we know what to expect

On paper, EVGA's specs say that the 12V rail on that PSU can handle 40A, which is more than what an R9-285 needs at stock. You may be pushing it too hard when you OC both the GPU and CPU though.

According to PC parts picker my system without and overclocks should only consume about 384w. Since I overclocked the fx 6300 to a fx 6350. That should be 30w and the power increase by 20%should be 40watts more which adds up to 454w. Is that too much for my psu to handle?
P.s now I have overclocked my gpu to1100mhz and 1500mhz and it worked fine.
