GPU making noise after watercooling

I have an EVGA GTX 970 SC with ACX 2.0 cooling. I decided to watercool it because EKWB had a waterblock for it as well as a backplate. After I put it all together, when I play games the card is very noisy. It only occurs when the gpu is under stress. I'd like to know what the cause is and how I can fix it. Thanks

Yeah, sounds to me like coil whine. The fans may of been creating an "Active Noise Cancellation" where the sounds frequencies block out those of the whine. Or you just might not of noticed it before because of the fans. You may want to have a look at this article. ( http://www.overclock.net/t/1094728/possible-fix-for-coil-whine ) Although coil whine is know as just being a thing that certain cards have, i believe there is some method of fixing it.

Edit: It is not possible your GPU waterblock is making a buzzing sound.

I very highly doubt it would be the GPU waterblocks fault. It will most likely be an issue that has always been there, but was muffled from the noise / frequency of the fans.

So what it looks like on the article is I could either overclock or replace the PSU. I was actually planning on replacing mine pretty soon (OCZ 750w) to this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438056 I think I'll go try the overclock now.

Yes, i currently own one of those PSUs, they are good quality. The only reason you would want to upgrade your PSU is if your planning on doing other upgrades in the future. Please make sure you read everything carefully when overclocking your PSU.

I'm having a hard time telling if it's the pump making the noise or if it's the card because the two are right next to each other. The reason I believe it to be the card is that the sound only comes on under load. Then again my pump is pwm. When I put my ear next to the case it sounds like it comes from the pump but when I back away it sounds like the card. My pump is gravity fed and definitely doesn't run dry also.

EDIT
I put my ear next to my card and it is definitely making the noise which is a mechanical buzzing sound. Thankfully not the pump.
