How do I install windows 10 on my new ssd for my laptop if the backup is on the old HDD?

If the laptop came with 10 installed it should allow you to reinstall and just skip the product key page. It'll activate automatically. It should also do that if it's had the free upgrade option from 7 or 8. If it was purchased separately you have a key somewhere same as always.

Just do a fresh install and try it, doesn't take that long and you still have your backup.
