Hello guys, I am newbie towards networking and I am currently using Windows Server 2008 to learn about the server.
In Windows Server 2008, is there any applications or software that can help in a company?
(E.g. Accounting tools, such as keeping track of financial transactions OR Employee’s Leave or Employee’s Information for various Departments)

I need help and opinions from you all. Thank you.

In general, Windows server does notcontrol the network. It hosts services - file, print, database...
In some cases, if the server acts as a DC, and the workstations are part of that same domain, then - yes, in that case the server can "control" the network.

To the OP: In many cases, HR/account/ERP applications require a file, database and/or application server to be available, and Windows Server could fill that role.
