Looking to build a gaming PC

I'm looking to build a gaming pc on my own and i'm new at this whole process. I've been trying to do research on the right parts I would need.
So far im thinking of getting the i7-4790K and asus Z97-A.
Im still trying to figure out what to get for the SSD, power supply, and RAM (was going to go with 8 GB)
Can anyone help me out?

No more than $1500, but i was hoping to keep it under $1000. I wanted to try and take advantage of the sales this week on black friday.
Yea I live in the U.S.
No pretty much just gaming

Wow Thanks! So this can work with pretty much any of the new games coming out now? I just don't know much about PC/PC gaming and i'm trying to transition over from consoles
I was also wondering if you knew any good resources where I could get more knowledgeable with this kind of stuff?
