DDR2 RAM Speed - Does it affect gaming?

I'm currently using an old PC with DDR2 RAM, which I will replace soon. Straight to the point; Will DDR2 running at 800MHz increase frame rates in games like GTA V compared to 667 MHz? Or will there be other benefits, or close to no benefit at all?

My specs

MSI P45 Platinum Motherboard
AMD Radeon R9 270 2GB (MSI TWIN FROZR) GPU
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @2.83GHz
6GB RAM (3x2GB Kingston ValueRAM)

Thanks

Lol
as i said before 4x 2g would run optimal . 800mhz versus 667mhz would also be marginal. go another 667 to make 4 that would be best option here
Yes 4x 2g ,800 mhz would be absolute best but that requires all new ones bought. If you don't have a SSD consider one of those

Hardly, i wouldn't bother. Never heard of 3gb ram cards, maybe you meant 3x 2g cards?
would run better with 4 x 2g cards matched

I'll probably just keep this PC as is, and move on to building a new system. But thanks for answering anyway, and i used to have 4x2g sticks, but one of them was faulty and caused BSODs. :)
