Hi,
I have read in several post that you can't move the system restore space to another drive.
I have bougth an Samsung EVO 800 SSD and installing Windows 10. I think system restore is very usefull, and don't want to disable it.
I have read the following post, with a command that says: "You can keep System Restore/Protection points on another drive/partition with this tool by changing drive letter for the /On= switch.":
https://www.winhelp.us/configure-system-restore-in-windows.html

The command should be:
vssadmin resize shadowstorage /For=C: /On=D: /MaxSize=1000MB

Someone has tried this?? I don't know if i have understand the meaning of the "/On" switch, to move the system restore space for frive C: to anoother drive..

Thanks!

The "/On" switch is where you specify the letter of the drive where you want the system restore points to be saved.

I have never used System Restore on any Windows version, you can't depend on it working every time, plus it only restores Windows system data anyway.

I create & weekly renew an entire HDD image on an external HDD, then save copies of it to three more external HDDs. That way, I have a current backup of everything on the internal hard drive.
