Horrible FX 8350 Temps at stock clocks, WITH A CUSTOM HEATSINK!

This is abomination. My build is fairly new, and i haven't even touched my CPU clocks since i bought the entire thing.

I have an EVO 212 cooler installed, and my CPU idles at 38 - 40C, reaching 57C while playing AC Syndicate for less than a couple of hours. How could this be normal?

Here's the rest of my build:

GTX 970
8GB RAM 1600MHZ
ASUS M5A99XPRO
COOLER MASTER 750CX
A cooler master HAF tower (mid sized)

I used to not bat an eye to temps, until a couple of months ago i checked my gaming temps and they were at a whopping 63C. I then re-applied thermal paste (correct way and all), but as you can see, barley any improvement.

The only thing i feel could be wrong was that the Heatsink mount was applied too tightly onto the CPU. However i think that ceases to be an issue since the EVO 212 is known for its barley-fittable mount.

fun fact: my cpu barley lasts a few minutes in prime95 without 1 error.

First off, as already pointed out, those temps are perfectly OK. Staying at 60C or lower during gameplay is pretty much standard for *any* CPU, Intel or AMD, & even spiking into the low 60s isn't anything to worry about. It's only when they're consistently peaking near/above 70C (or your idle temps are hitting 50C) that you need to start worrying. Just to be safe, though, what are you using to measure the temps?

Also, ow is the rest of the airflow in your case? I use the stock cooler on my FX-8320, but I also have my case fans just about maxed out -- 3 intake (front, side, bottom) & 2 exhaust (rear, top), none near the PSU's exhaust. I get the same or lower temps on my CPU, & it not only helps my CPU & GPU run cooler but also my drives (have had a couple get fried in the past).
