My ram doesn't like me

So I'm a noob that just completed my first build. Upon completion, my "on button" was kind enough to give me a "no signal" screen with no post beeps that kept me troubleshooting for a week. Before continuing, this is my build:

MOBO 970a - g46
CPU FX6300
GPU RAEDON R7 370 2GB
RAM Kingston Hyper X DDR3 1866 1x8gb

After testing everything in another computer, and borrowing a stick of ddr3 1333, I have determined that the problem is my ram. With the borrowed stick there is no problem on start up but on mine, i get nothing. i spent some time in the BIOS trying to get it to work at 1866 (in the OC menu) with 0 success and after reading about the fx ram compatibility I'm unsure to isolate the exact problem.

I wouldn't mind buying another stick if need be but i much rather get mine to work. Ie. downclocking ram. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is the Hyper X Fury, and after checking the mobo site there are 2 available updates. I will try updating later on, but does that mean that after updating, the ram should work without any more problems? Or will i still have to play with the BIOS?
