CPU Idles Hot, Should I Re-apply Thermal paste?

I have an i7 6700k that I just installed a cooler master hyper 212 Evo onto. I'm worried I might not have applied enough thermal compound when mounting.

When first launching the BIOS, I saw that the CPU temperature was 36 degrees C while only running for about 15 minutes. Will this be a problem when I start to put the CPU under more pressure? I don't want to burn it!

By the way, I used the thermal compound that came with the cooling unit.

Thank you so much for helping me out with this!

My specs are:

CPU: Intel i7 6700k
Motherboard: Gigabyte z170x gaming 5
CPU cooler: Cooler Master hyper 212 Evo
Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws 4 ddr4
Case: fractal design define s window
Graphics card: Nvidia gtx 980 Ti
PSU: EVGA supernova 850 G2

36c is a perfectly healthy idle temp for that CPU. Anything between 30c and 40c is an acceptable idle temp.

As long as the CPU temp doesn't reach over 80c under FULL load you're not going to be reducing the life of the CPU.

Here's a great Tom's Intel CPU Temp Guide for reference if you want to check over some of the more specific numbers: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1808604/intel-temperature-guide.html
