Can't run "Shadowing" recordings?

So I'm trying to keep running Mirillis Action!'s shadow recording going (a feature called Time-Shift in the software) and it basically lets me capture a certain amount of gameplay that happened in the past (up to whatever amount of time, so you press a hotkey and it captures the last 30 seconds or whatnot and turns it into a video file)

However, my AMD Radeon R9 200/7900 Series apparently just keeps overheating even though normally it has no heating issues. I can even record just fine normally. I set the filetype to use the AMD APP/.mp4 as well, which makes it last a little longer before it shuts down my displays while I have the "shadow" feature on.

Do I really need to pick up a Nvidia GPU to have access to this feature? I've tried other software with this feature as well and Mirillis Action! is the only one that's relatively tolerable to use as it doesn't, within 10 seconds, make my displays shut off. More like within 30 seconds. The GPU makes more noise, then it gets louder, then my displays shut off but the computer stays on.
