Hello there! I have been facing a weird problem with my new built PC. The issue is when the PC is cold like its turned off at night and if I turn on the power/reset button in the morning it won't start. This happens only in the morning when I try to turn it on for the first time after 8 hours gap at night. I see the Motherboard's Green light on, and if I hard press the Power button for few seconds, then three more lights come on (The blue LED in CMOS button and a small blue LED below the Graphics card and red LED next to JPWR Power connector), but no Chassis Fans spinning, the graphics card fan spins for a second and stops, no boot, no Hard disk spinning, no HD light on front panel, no display and doesn't even take to Boot menu. It's a pretty new MSI board and all the components are new too. I took it to MSI service center, they checked PSU, RAMS, GPU separately and finally told there's no problem with any of these components and it's just the moisture issue. They kept the motherboard for baking(1 day) and placed 3 tiny silica gel packets inside the case, and re-connected everything and said it's working fine.It turned on the next morning without a problem, but from next day the same issue again- It didn't start for the first time. After reading some questions here, I tried a hair dryer and gently blew some warm air towards the motherboard using the Hair dryer and just after few seconds when I turned on, the PC started without any hassle. After the first time boot I will not be having any issues at all and PC turns on normally even if I switch it off for 2 or 3 hours in the middle of the day. I have been using Hair dryer since 3 days to turn it on in the morning and it's too frustrating to do this every time with a brand new Motherboard. Every time the PC turns on with Hair dryer, it first splashes a CMOS message on black screen saying 'All settings were reset to default values, press F2 to continue'. The average temperature here in India at the moment is between 20ºC-30ºC which doesn't really look like a problem at all.

I tried all these advices, but in vain - 1)Enabling XMP. 2)Replugging RAMs one by one 3)Replugging Graphics Card 4)Unplugging the PSU cable from the case at night and plugging it back in the morning 4)Correctly placing the CPU on the motherboard with cooler 5)Disconnecting and re-connecting all the devices and cables 6)Checking the PSU voltage separately 7)Pressing the CMOS button and Loading Optimized defaults 8) I have updated to latest Bios too(V17.11 HB0). I tried all different suggestions you guys posted here for Cold boot issue, but nothing worked. A couple of times when I removed the RAMs and replugged them after few minutes, the PC started. But only twice it succeeded in various attempts. Once the PC starts, it works like a charm for the whole day despite numerous breaks and restarts, but I can't keep using Hair Dryer every day and it's pretty annoying. I'm hoping I would get some answers here to fix this issue otherwise should RMA it, hope MSI replaces it with a flawless board without troubling me too much. Would really appreciate if you experts here can help me.

Just as a troubleshooting measure, I would try a different cmos battery. Not very likely but if the battery is faulty that could explain why your cmos settings are being reset. Also, make sure the cmos reset jumper is in the correct position. If that doesn't change anything you may have a bad capacitor on your board.
