First off I'm pretty new to all this so bear with me. So my PC is getting some what old now and I'm wondering if I could significantly affect its performance by upgrading a part or two. What made me consider this is I saw my Windows Experience Index scores and one of my scores was significantly lower than the others, my processor/ram/graphics/and gaming graphics were all 7.4-7.5 and my primary hard disk data transfer rate is 5.9. Not to leave you with this info alone I'll include my PCs parts.

System Model: HPE-460Z
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor 3.2GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series
RAM: 8GB (not sure the brand but I'm pretty sure its 2x4GB)
Hard Drive: WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA
OS: Window 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Motherboard: Aloe-GL8E (I'm pretty sure..)
Front-side-bus (processor dependent): 4000 MHz HT3
Power output wattage: 460 Watt

What are you trying to accomplish, faster gaming?

If so, upgrade your video card. An SSD will improve general boot times and speed, but really does not do much for gaming performance.

So, the answer is that it depends on what you want to do faster.
