I'm looking for something that'll fit everything in my build (290mm VGA/159mm CPU cooler) for the best value at the lowest price (<$100, ~$40 target).

  • ■ I prefer a quiet case. Fans are great--just not loud ones.
    ■ I don't care about the build look so long as it's not going to keep me awake with very bright LEDs while it's on. Otherwise, some light is fine.
    ■ Seeing as how I'll have a i5-6600K in the system, cooling and airflow will be prioritized.
    ■ Build quality in terms of flimsiness isn't important so long as I can glue back feet or the case doesn't short circuit the mobo nor damage the system in any way.
    ■ 290mm VGA and 159mm CPU cooler clearance required.
    ■ Cable management isn't important, but since it may affect air flow I'll leave it to your discretion.
    ■ I'm interested in portability. If there's an especially easy to carry case, I'd like to see it even if it sacrifices other features. As long as it can carry the parts, it's fine.
    ■ Bottom mounting PSU with bottom filters preferred, but not necessary.
    ■ I'll be fitting two 3.5" HDD, and one 2.5" SSD. The use of a converter bracket is acceptable. I would like the space to add another 2.5" SSD in the future though.

Attached is my build list from PC part picker
Not seen in the list but that will be included are two additional 3.5" HDDs.

Hey SebDays,
I recommend getting a Define R5, it is a quiet case with a lot of room for improvement and it is also quiet, reliable, strong and cheap.
Otherwise if it is too much, the Define S might work for you. Although for watercooling it can be used for air quite well with a lot of fan mounting points.

IMO choose the Define S, its 70-80$

For an extremely large Rig, I'd say Corsair 450D, but it is still pretty large. For ATX builds it is hard to have a pretty portable chassis. I've been looking for a while but still cannot find a case which is small and portable. I'd suggest the 450D, sturdy case and smaller than the other options.
