I recently purchased a 65inch 4k UHD Samsung TV and want to hook up a machine powerful enough to render 4k at a confortable 60fps to really take advantage of it. Now, the last time I built my own rig was ten years ago, and sadly I don't have the time to re-learn and build my own again. With that being said, I'm looking to get the best bang for my buck since I know lots of these prebuilt rigs are overpriced. I don't really have a budget, but I'd like to keep it under $3000 if possible. I have been looking around, but it's been so long I have no idea what I'm really looking at anymore.

You guys always know best, so, what do you think?

4k gaming requires a custom built PC with 2 980TIs in SLI (at least).
But your budget matches.
ibuypower is decent and their prices aren't too bad. Pretty much just the basics at 2.5k, you can add fancier mice and keyboards if you want.

If buying a prebuilt system I would recommend first finding a builder you like. What is important to you?

I am going to be buying a prebuilt myself and to me the most important is reliability and warranty support. I checked reviews and BBB listing to see if there are any i should stay away from. My budget is similar to yours also.

What I have found is this:
1: Not all prebuilt companies use top rated hardware. Some use the cheapest they can find in order to lower cost. This means they have more issues and do not last as long.

2: Not all provide the same coverage of warranty support. There are many different levels of phone support and processes in order to get computer fixed. A big factor is how they get the computer to fix it. Do they send a in home tech out or do you ship it to them. If you do ship it what is the cost and how anal are they about it.

3: Price and if there are any specials. Sometimes it is possible to get specials by searching the web for any deals or even just sending an email to company. You get what you pay for and if you cheap out than the system will crap out sooner.

The above drastically narrowed down who i would trust to build me a computer. Most technical support and warranty coverage is very very bad and IMO you have to pray nothing happens to your computer because getting it fixed is pure hell.

I have not decided on which company I will pick yet but it will be one through a warranty I can trust. Ibuypower is not included in that list. Just check BBB rating.
