Need Help with Dp - DVI Dual adapters GTX980 ti

I have a Zotac AMP Extreme GTX 980 ti. It has one DVI-D dual output and 3 DP outputs. I have three Acer GN246HL 144hz monitors. These monitors only have VGA and DVI-D Dual inputs. Using the DVI-D output on the card directly to one of the monitor works and results in 144hz signal. I have a handful of Dell 023nvr DP to DVI-D Dual adapters. However using these with my other two monitors only result in 60hz. Everything I have read online says these are DP-DVI-D Dual adapters. Looking at the pins, it appears correct. So my question is, should these be working? Do I need active adapters? is there a different passive cable I should be using? I just bought these monitors locally, so if a active cable is needed I will just return them as the money saved would be negated y buying active adapters. Thanks in advance for any help you can lend...

After some research, active adapters are needed and all I found would only get to 120hz and were very expensive. Took the monitors back and bought 3 Asus 144hz monitors with dp ports.
