So I just bought a new Asus gtx 960 turbo at fry's electronics and after plugging it in my computer won't turn on. If I unplug the 6-pin power line it will turn on and tell me to plug it in. If I take out the gpu it will work. I have new(4 month old) corsair ax 760 psu, which works fine. It works with a gtx 770(which requires a 6 and an 8 pin connector). This is really bugging me. Please offer some input.

System specs:
Asus z87 pro mobo
Intel i5 4670k cpu
8gb corsair vengeance ram(2x4)
Asus gtx 960 4gb turbo gpu
Corsair ax 760 psu
WD 1tb hdd
Windows 7

Solution
BIOS update could work.

Also, did you try with a different 6-pin cable? Your PSU is modular so you could try a different cable, or in a different slot.

a gtx 770 is faster than a gtx 960 and uses more power

looks like either mobo needs updated bios or you have a defective card
