I'm wanting to invest in a lower end graphics card for my old prebuilt desktop, for a max of $150 as a budget. Just to play games that need around a gigabyte of dedicated ram.

Here's the computer I have http://support.hp.com/vn-en/document/c04484447

or

The specs:

CPU - Intel Core i3-4130, 3.4 GHz Dual Core (54W usage)
Memory - DDR3 8 GB
Graphics - Intel HD Graphics 4400 (integrated)
Hard dirve - 1 TB
Power supply - 180 W
Motherboard - Form factor: uATX - 24.4 cm (9.6 inches) x 24.4 cm (9.6 inches)
1 PCI Express x16 (Gen 3.0)

I tried to measure inside the case and I believe the card would need to be smaller than 9" x 5"

Because the overall wattage is so low, I'm not sure if I can use a GPU. I've found the GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB and the GeForce GTX 650 2GB to be recommended the most but can I use them? Or any other card? Thank you for any infomation anyone may have!

I'm not sure what an external power brick is. Is that the box on the middle of the wall power cable? If so it doesn't have that, the PSU is a silver box attached to the ceiling of the tower.

Its like a laptop power supply, in the page that you posted it says that it uses an external power supply, if is not your case and you have a standard atx PSU then you can change it for a bigger one.
