CPU: i5 4690K
GPU: GTX 960 4GB SLi
RAM: DDR3 2133MHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X-SLi
SSD - 120GB Kingston
HDD - 500GB SATAIII
PSU - CX750M modular

Does this fall into the High End Category or the Mid range Category?

Mid-High range. But high range would be an i7 I think. Anyways your PC is a beast.

I would say mid to high too, closer to high but that is in a scale where very high is an i7 and 980Ti.

The thing that stops it being high is sli 2 weaker cards instead of a single strong card and the poor quality PSU

definitely high end, 960 sli is beast and so is 4690k, should be able to max out any game currently on the market

don't get caught up in trying to make your computer the most powerful thing imaginable because you will waste all of your money and it will not be nearly as satisfying as you might think

if it plays everything you want it to play at the settings you want it to play them at, there is no reason to upgrade

The problem with sli 960's is sli is not always supported (Fallout 4 for a recent example) and can have other issues such as micro stutter.

You should have pick a stronger single GPU than SLI-ing 2 GTX960s.

Contrary to what others seem to be saying, I'd say that your PC is mid-range for gaming. The SLI 960s are good, but they are quite far away from the 'high-end' GPUs. A singular 970 would be better, and then I would say it would be high-end.

But that's just my opinion

2 960's are only better if the game supports sli and has good driver bug free drivers. In all other circumstances a single strong card is prefered. There is more to consider than raw gpu horsepower, if you cant fully utilise that horsepower without issues it doesn't matter. In games where sli is not supported or has bad drivers you might as well use a single card

cards that are more powerful than 960 sli..
980, 980ti, r9 390x, r9 fury, r9 295x, titan z, titan x
now.... think about all of the cards worse than 960 sli
I can't even begin to list how many cards are worse than 960 sli, comparative to all of the video cards on the market, 960 sli are top tier. people have narrowed down what is "top tier" to a few expensive out of reach cards that no one should reasonably be purchasing unless they have a lifestyle or work completely based around their pc. and 960 sli beats 970 in pretty much any case, even with the possibility of sli malfunction

If you look at the individual tests you will see how much the performance fluctuates depending on how well sli is supported and as a result a single 970 came out on top. Wolfenstein New Order is an example of sli performing worse than a single card which a bit extreme but does happen. I'd take a single 970 over sli 960, sod's law dictates that the game you really want to play wont work well with sli

I would also probably take a single 970 over sli 960s. However, the 960 sli's smoke the 970's in some modern game framerates, you can't deny that, just look at COD AW framerates, bioshock infinite, crysis 3, etc. There are some games where it lags behind, but for most modern games where SLI is more likely to be supported it's actually quite good. And i'm assuming that OP already has this system, so considering where games are right now I see no reason for him to dump his SLI's and go pick out a 970 which will have at best better performance in older games.

the R9 390X falls below the GTX 980 a little. and even if it did beat the 980 in some games the 960 SLI would still be ontop. and i can find much more videos of the GTX 960 SLI beating those 2 cards in MOST games and benchmarks. and even if that 1 game or 1 benchmark isn't as good for the 960's as it is as the 980 then that doesn't matter because the 960 SLI will still be in 1080p and over 60fps. that doesn't make the 980 a better card...
