Hi all

I got this motherboard GA-P67A-D3-B3 (rev 1.0) and currently 2 of this Kingston 4 GB ddr3 1600 cl9 (http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX1600C9D3B1_4G.pdf) .

Will it work fine if i add 2 of those Kingston HyperX FURY 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz CL10.

Is there any change i need to make to the system in order to get better result ?

Its my first post here so im sorry if there is something wrong.

Thx for your help .

First thx for the help

I would be happy to hear more opinions.

Just to make sure i explained myself properly, by mixing i mean using both in
Dual channel each pair.

The 2nd thing is that i already got them (ordered before i asked).

so the my other qustion is when you say it won't work , it mean it will work but not optimally/won't work at all.
and can it do any damage to other parts.

IM also asking since i saw in other threads ppl do mix different cl types and just adjusting other settings to try make up for it,
is there some settings i can change to achieve the same/better result ?

The problem with mixing ram, even from the same make/models is you run the chance of them not working together. This is why they sell the different kits. It may work, but it will be limited to the slower one. If it does work, just go in to your UEFI or BIOS and tweak your ram settings to either slow down or speed them up.

My main concern is the density. Rest of the things don't matter as much.
The main reason people recommend you get a kit of matching RAM is because newer modules of even the same model number could have a higher density chip.
Either it's outright incompatible, or could be, but hard to say.

True, I've never ran into the density issue. It's usually just the speeds. I've never tried pairing two different CL's together and I can see where this would be a big "if". I was just assuming that since you can change your CL's in UEFI, that it wouldn't be as big of an issue as it used to be.

So this the current configuration with the old pair,

if i understand it properly ill need to lower it to 10 for the new pair ?
so i basically need to change the first 3 (trcd, trp, tras) to 10 after
connecting also the 2nd pair ?
