What is the chance of a BIOS update going wrong under the following conditions?

I am looking to update my BIOS. My laptop is an Acer Aspire E5-571PG-524H. The drivers are on this website:

http://www.acer.com.au/ac/en/AU/content/drivers

Or select my product from a list > Notebook > Aspire > Aspire E5-571PG

1. I have updated my BIOS before
2. I know my computer facts
3. I have a backup power supply
4. The BIOS update goes like this: You download the zip file, extract it, and run the .exe program. The program then tells you close all other windows, plug in the battery, and plug in AC Adapter. Then it restarts, shows Acer - Explore Beyond Limits Screen, then enters BIOS update immediately.

Also, its strange that when I did my last BIOS update, the fans revved up to 100% immediately in the BIOS update. Maybe the BIOS update file couldn't fit another fan controller?
I just want to know what the chances of a BIOS update going wrong?

I was reading some topics on BIOS updates and it appears that there are more errors and unexpected things happening when you try to update it that way (via a program that you launch from your OS). Maybe we should wait for someone who has a similar laptop to give some better advice.

After all that, I'd just like to say that you shouldn't try to fix something that is not broken. If everything is working fine, don't do it. And even if you have some problems, if you are not sure whether the BIOS update includes the fix for it or not, don't do it.

Well, Acer doesn't appear to have another way of BIOS updating. I want to fix an issue, where I asked here:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2852174/laptop-charging-charging.html

The BIOS zip doesn't have a README file containing BIOS fixes

Tried Win 7 A few days ago. I am positively certain that is a hardware failure/problem

I went through the bother of reverting back BIOS. The fans, again, went full 100%. And no, it isn't fixed.

My Laptop is a little over 1 year old. I think the motherboard is broken. Well, the other things are working perfectily fine For about 4 months, I have been operating my laptop with the case loose, and sometimes I touch the Motherboard with bare hands. I think my hand's static electricity may have rewired the thingies. Oops-a-daisy!

But thank you all for your find replies. Greatly Appreciated!!!
