Mixing memory a possibility?

So, here's the skinny of my situation.

I have an ASUS ROG G751JL-DS71 that has 16 GB of Samsung DDR3 RAM. I want to expand, and add more, as my computer can support 32GB. My only issue, is that it seems as though there aren't any places where I can purchase the same RAM that's in my PC currently, that isn't used or "refurbished". My question, ultimately, is whether or not I can mix and match brands with the same specs, and be ok, considering taking my laptop apart to remove and upgrade the existing RAM would void my warranty. My laptop, as maybe some of you reading this will know, has a plate on the bottom you can remove to expand your RAM, and add a second HDD, so I can only expand, not upgrade. I'm including a link to the RAM I currently have, from Newegg. I'd rather not buy "refurbished", I'd rather just have new, if possible. If I can mix, please, list me to some RAM that would be comparable to my current RAM.

Don't do it. Laptop mixing ram is a lot more complicated than a desktop due to setting being different and extra voltage might cause issues. Unless you have an actual need to have 32 gb don't do it... If you want to go 32 gb buy 32 gb there is a reason they sell memory in kits... Not all memory all plays well together. Even the exact same model may not work together

You'd be correct in assuming that. I'm not hitting 100% of the 16GB, but to run better mods like custom shaders and textures, It's going to require more memory, so my laptop doesn't y'know, shit the bed.

If you are using 15.99 gb max adding 1000 more gb won't help anything. I'm not aware of a single non rendering type program capable of using 16 gb right now (stress testing stuff ignored) I really think you'll be wasting your money if you do it but its your call there is maybe a 50/50 chance they'll work together at advertised timings. Go into your bios and see how adjustable your memory setting are... If you can't adjust timings/dram voltage I wouldn't bother as its almost a guaranteed fail
