Hi, this is my first post and first time building a pc. I'd like to make use of any Black Friday deals or Kijiji deals.

I'm looking for suggestions on a build that can run Fallout 4 +mods, SW Battlefront +mods, GTAV +mods at 60fps, and at 1080p (Using a 55" Sony Bravia for couch gaming).

I haven't decided between the GTX 970 vs the R9 390, better or worse. So I can be swayed by your suggestions.

Budget is flexible from $1000-1200-1400 CAD. I don't plan to upgrade for a couple of years.

Thank you.

Thanks for the reply ben. What do you think of this build? I went with the R9 390 instead.

Since, you can invest upto 1,400 CAD, the above listed build is definitely better than yours and games don't push more than 4 cores, but the No.of hyper threads could be useful for recent titles where most of the cores are being used. An Intel core i5 is the best choice for gaming alone. The suggestion has been made is just because to maintain the overall & stable performance of your desktop.

Overclocking a CPU will not impact much in game performance hardly 2-3 fps gain. Still, a better CPU for gaming. Anyways, your build is not bad at all. The R9 390X will increase 10% in performance but R9 390 is definitely better for money & damn fine option for any gamer's today. Now, the point is get the best possible components within your amount.
