With nvidias new cards next year. Do you think right now is a bad time to buy a new card? Thinking of going from a 960 to a 970. But dont know if waiting is a better option

There is always an amazing new upgrade right around the corner.

If you're going to be miserable gaming with your GTX 960 for the next year go ahead and pick up a GTX 970, it is a significant upgrade. If you're pretty happy with your current GPU then it certainly couldn't hurt to wait until the next release.

It's always a balance between the two, but don't let the 'just around the corner' always stop you from enjoying your time now.

Thing is i dont want the next best thing. I just dont want to buy a higher end gpu right now, then find out a month later its at half price

That's what happens with technology!

Last week, I bought a 960GB SSD for $220. "1 day special price!" And for that drive, it was a GREAT price.
3 days later, it was $200.
6 months from now, that same drive will probably be $175.

When do you need whatever it is you are going to buy?

There is always a "new GPU next year". Always. Every year.
